Shyscout365

Hi guys! How's it going? I have been meaning to share this post since February 1st - whoops! For those of you who follow me on Instagram you may have noticed I started using the hashtag #shyscout365 without any explanation - so I am here today to finally tell you all about it.

When coming up with resolutions for the new year, I decided that I wanted to work on my creativity and improve my photography skills in the process. When I say "photography skills" - I mean very basic skills that could use some MAJOR improvement. While I really enjoyed my photography class in college, my crammed schedule prevented me from exploring it further in the classroom - so that's where the 365 project comes in. 365 projects (something you do every day for an entire year) is not new or revolutionary by any means (especially in the world of blogging), but I thought it would be a fun way to challenge myself daily.

Since February 1st I have photographed something every day and hope to continue this for an entire year. I have been posting the images on instagram to hold myself accountable. Some days I may not post them due to a hectic schedule, but other days I will post multiple images in order to catch up. Right now I have posted more than 29 images, simply because I am having too much fun!

I hope that by the 365th day I will be able to look back and see the progress i've (hopefully) made, and have a visual journal of the year. Currently toys and Sweetpea are dominating the project, but they are what I love most so I guess it is fitting. It will be fun to see what other trends pop up - I have a feeling there will be a lot of home and decor photos come July. Can't wait!

These are the most popular images of the #shyscout365 series so far.

Have any of you completed a 365 project - or are you in the midst of one? I would love to hear all about it!!

I am excited to see where this project takes me. From here on out I will do weekly posts of the photos from that week with background info. I thought it would have been a bit overwhelming at this point, but if you have any questions about the images above - please don't hesitate to ask!

Have a great weekend everyone!
