Life Lately - Hairspray

Hi all! Happy Monday. I hope your week got off to a good start. I am playing a little bit of catch up over here because I spent the weekend at home, which means little to no internet. However, I did have a fun weekend. Saturday night was the opening night of Hairspray at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora. My brother starred as Tracy's love interest - Link Larkin. Hairspray is one of my favorite musicals, and this version definitely did not disappoint (even though I may be slightly biased). If you are in the Chicago-land area I highly recommend checking it out!

It took a lot not to sing along. The costumes and set were also amazing (I would time travel back the 60s in a heartbeat). There was a minor malfunction with a piece of the stage - I had never encountered that before, but they got everything under control and the show went on. Anything can happen in live theatre. Afterward I got to meet the crew. It is always a lot of fun meeting all the stars of the show.

Aside from the show opening I had a fairly low-key weekend. It was nice to have some down time with the family and my pup sweetpea. I also couldn't resist the urge to bleach my hair blonde at home... thankfully my hair is still intact. Wahoo.

Anywho, see you all soon!
